Widowed for four years, Karsh has struggled to process his grief, albeit in a peculiar way. Thanks to his vast financial resources, he founded a company, GraveTech, which manufactures special burial shrouds equipped with cameras that record the deceased, allowing their loved ones to observe them post-mortem through an electronic device. Most importantly, this allows Karsh to watch Becca at any moment, even in death. In doing so, he discovers an anomaly in Becca’s bones, as if they are mutating underground. Meanwhile, the GraveTech cemetery where Becca is buried falls victim to vandalism and cyber hacking, seemingly linked to a group of Icelandic eco-terrorists. Maury, Karsh’s brother-in-law, and Terry, his ex-wife and Becca’s sister—identical to her except for personality and hairstyle—suspect that Russian and Chinese intelligence services are involved, interested in the strategic potential of GraveTech’s systems.
